Unarchive a Chat

Move a conversation back to your active message list to resume chatting and receiving notifications.

On Mobile (iOS & Android)

  1. Tap the search bar at the top right corner of the "Home" screen.

  2. Type in the name of the chat.

  3. Locate the chat in the results, which will appear as "Archive > [chat name]".

  4. Swipe left on the chat and tap the "Restore" icon.

  5. View the restored chat in the "Chats" folder on your home screen.

Note: You can go to the “Archive” folder if it is visible and long-press a chat to “Unarchive” it. To learn more about how to make the “Archive” folder visible, read here.

On Desktop (Windows, macOS, & Web App)

  1. Click the “Archive” folder in the sidebar menu under the Favorites section.

    Note: If the “Archive” folder is missing, you may need to enable its visibility. You can learn more about this here

  2. Hover your cursor over the desired chat.

  3. Click the "down arrow" icon in the corner of the chat item.

  4. Select “Unarchive”.

  5. Click "Chats" in the sidebar menu to view the restored chat.
