Create a Chat from a Message

Turn any existing message into a new topic to keep your projects and teams organized.

On Mobile (iOS & Android)

  1. Find the message you want to use for the new topic.

  2. Long press on the message.

  3. Tap “New topic”.

  4. Write a name for the topic.

  5. Tap "Participants" to select the members you want to add.

  6. Tap "Done".

  7. Tap “Create” and you will be directed to the new topic.


Note: 

  • The selected message will appear as the first messages in the new topic with "Forwarded" written above them. 

  • You can select multiple messages at once to start a new topic. 

  • You can set the new topic as an announcement topic (more about announcement topics here).

On Desktop (Windows, macOS, & Web App)

  1. Hover over the message you want to use for the new topic.

  2. Click the “Three dots” icon.

  3. Click “New topic”.

  4. Write a name for the topic.

  5. Click "Participants" to select the members you want to add.

  6. Click “Done”.

  7. Click “Create” and you will be directed to the new topic.


Note:
